I n the beginning God created…Man, who was created as one being, just as all creation was created, however, man’s being was created in the image of God, man would live forever. Man willfully disobeyed God’s Commandment. Adam sinned and sentence was imposed by God. God made it clear when he placed Adam in the garden, what the penalty would be; if he ate the forbidden fruit, he would physically die. Adam by his action divided himself into two beings. His spirit, that would live forever, and his body, that would die, each became sinful and impure. Adams initial body was Holy, however, thru his sinful act, Adam poisoned his body, and in time it would result in death of the body.
Adam now has two beings, a corrupted spiritual being and a corrupted physical being. Only man has two beings. Man now has a new challenge. Which of the two beings are to be honored by the other, surrendering their dominance, or will there be a continual conflict between them.
Perhaps we can more easily understand the body. Bodies, both male and female, have a purpose. The body’s basic purpose is, a vehicle of the mind, as an auto is a vehicle of the owner, to carry the spirit where the spirit wants to go, and to perform tasks that the spirit can’t do. body is also the vehicle thru which the spirit manifests evil. Our bodies do not know what is best for them. Desires are manifested thru the body, and an evil desire will be manifested by the breaking of the Ten Commandments. An evil spirit may join, or direct the body, in some or all of the body’s unrighteous endeavors, thereby, damaging, sometimes permanently, or destroying the body. Read, ‘When It’s Over Its Not Over’.
The Spirit of man has eternal life, living in his body, as a gift from God. God’s gift of the Spirit was pure (righteous), man thru disobedience to God, made his spirit impure (unrighteous). Nothing unrighteous can enter the presence of God.Mankind now, possesses an unrighteous spirit. This unrighteous spirit will easily yield to evil temptations of the spirit, as well as the body. Temptations of the spirit may include, unrighteous thoughts, lust, worldly worship, dishonesty, scheming, infidelity, etc., as well as sins manifested thru the body. Man’s spirit becomes demon possessed, i.e. a vehicle of Satan. Man’s outward appearance, may, for a time seem righteous however; it is totally unrighteous, and totally unacceptable to God. Jesus Christ thru his death, and resurrection, offers to redeem mankind’s spirit, returning it to the righteous, created state, redeemed by Jesus and become righteous. Jesus will send the Holy Spirit to live within our spirit in the body, and our spirit will be righteous. Man’s body, along with his spirit, has now become the Temple of The Holy Spirit (dwelling place). Man’s spirit thru the power of the Holy Spirit, now has control of both spirit and body. Only Jesus can cleanse our spirit, making it Holy/Righteous, and presentable to God. Only God can see our spirit. The body has become the Temple of The Holy Spirit, everyone can see the temple. Thru prayer, and the Power of the Holy Spirit keep your spirit Righteous and Holy. Righteousness is as a bright light on a hill, everyone can see it. “LET IT SHINE”1 Cor. 10:13 God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. (NIV Bible)
