Once upon a time, a son became an adult. He departed the family on a journey to establish his independence. Traveling the land for a decade or so, he harvested where he had not planted, and reaped in fields he had not sown.
By and by on his journey, he came upon a field of interest, and began an inquiry. He observed the field was well protected by a five strand, four point barbwire fence, with a secure, locked gate.
His thoughts were, is protection given this field, indicative of the value the owner places on the field; is there value in this field, that is greater than the value of fields that have poor, or no fence at all.
He begins the inquiry, of the availability, of the field for harvest. From observation, and inquiry with the owner, he also learns, the secure fence surrounds the field, it is not just on the traveled border; the soil is well dressed and fertile; there are no thistles or thorns growing in the field; the harvest will be plenteous; an abundant spring, thereon, will fulfill the desire and need of the harvester, and the harvest will be at the will of the owner, not the will of the harvester.
The negotiations continue for months on end, and the owner never designates the time of harvest. The man is ready to accept the fact, ‘there may never be a harvest’. He expresses to the owner, they have in good faith, faithfully negotiated, and, having been unable to reach an agreement, surely it is time for them to end the negotiations. The owner agrees.
It is late on a Sunday afternoon. Having said their parting words, the man turns and is walking across the street, when he hears the owner softly say, ‘I don’t want you to go’. The man slowly turns around, walking back to the owner, replies, ‘I don’t want to go’. Thus begins the interest in purchasing the field. The owner agrees to sell the field, however, does not set the price. They each begin their investigation, the owner, to determine if the man is qualified to make the purchase; the man to determine if the field is an asset. Each set about, doing the title check, the credit report, medical history, and background investigations.
Weeks roll on and in due time they conclude in good faith, the owner agreeing to sell, and the man agreeing to purchase. The man asks the owner for the price, she replies, “Your life, the rest of your life, one day at a time”. The man replied, “I Accept”.
With the transfer of all legalities, of the agreement recorded, they travel together to the field. She unlocks the gate and invites him in, locking the gate behind them. They are now Righteously together, forever secured, to enjoy the fullness of the Harvest.
The fence that she carefully constructed, will keep the Unrighteous out, and will keep them, Righteously in. He knows and is obedient to the fence. She has the lock and key. They are no longer two, they have Righteously became One.
God in the Garden of Eden, gave womankind a fair warning, Righteously Secure your field, before you negotiate, or you will be tricked by Satan (as Eve was) losing control, and become a servant to the man. In a sexual relationship, two bodies become one, and a new human being may/will emerge from the sexual union. YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL. Sexual sins are against God, self and others. How does the body forgive itself, of sin against itself, and others?
