Mankind has two bodies, an earthly body and a spiritual body.
God created Adam & Eve with an eternal body, they would live forever. As a result of their sin, they corrupted their body, it became and earthly body, and they would die. God also gave them a spiritual body that would live forever. The spiritual body of man is created thru an act of sin, thru the sinful act, it became a sinful spiritual body.
Jesus Christ came to earth to offer redemption to the earthly body, for the spiritual body. As a result of Jesus giving his life, suffering death, on the cross, he paid the price God demanded for the right of our earthly body, to claim His redemption for our spiritual body.
When the earthly body asks for and receives redemption, forgiveness, of their sinful nature, thru Jesus Christ, the spiritual body becomes righteous. There is one sin that is a sin against the spirit body, sexual sin. When we sin against the spiritual body, it isn’t over when it is over. This sin is imbedded in the conscience of the body, as a disease is imbedded in our earthly body, and thereby, as a disease, each take their toil, for many years, or perhaps for life.
Disease of the earthly body is usually evident. Sin against the spiritual body is concealed, it can’t be seen, only felt in the conscience, thereby limiting our ability. Society turns a blind eye to sexual sins, and thereby condones them as being permissible. Sexual sins against the soul, is what cancer is, to the physical body. It takes away from the soul the ability to give 100% thru Love. Think of the soul as a full vessel. A vessel has a given capacity. When you commit a sexual act, you have given away contents of the vessel. How much you give, is not a given, it is totally uncontrollable by those giving. It is evidenced in the media, and thru personal knowledge of those we are acquainted with, and many families, divorcing as a result. Love is not, an expression of our sinful body, sinful bodies only have desire, but an expression of our righteous soul. Unrighteous sexual sins inhibits/reduce the capacity of the soul to love. It may be likened to a stroke, completely changing the person or persons, inhibiting their ability to give, love. Thru sin you give away from your vessel, reduces your capacity give love.
Desire is an expression of our sinful body. Love is from the vessel of our soul. By giving away from the vessel of love, thru desire, we reduce our capacity of love, 50% given away only leaves 50% remaining, and you can’t give what you have given away, it may be gone forever. A ‘Memoir’ article in More.com, Nov. 11 Issue by Joanne Kaufman, reads – "When I was in my twenties, I had an affair with a married man. It is chronicled in a black pasteboard sketchbook I am happily married now, however, I can’t bring myself to read or toss away. It’s been 28 years, but it’s not over". Barbara Wilson, tells her story in her book ‘The Invisible Bond’. She writes of her fall, her 25 years of guilt, and her recovery. Open http://www.barbarawilson.org
